for some reason, the default course id for every class on our moodle system seems to be my moodle user id. Where I can i change this?

Also, I should say that this is 1.9.2. I know newer versions have a setting that I can change. This is just frustrating because every course settings page has my username.
are you having the same issue on different browsers, computers? this reads like a cookie storing that information for whenever you visit a course settings page.
Great! You were right. I cleared my browser and tried again and they disappeared. Every class that I checked had my username there, regardless of my userid, and I was concerned that other users would see my name there and think what an idiot. Thanks so much for the tip.
I saw that in the new version of Moodle, I can put a default value in there.
