HI
Can someone give a new moodle user instructions on how to install additional and customized blocks. I have but the in the $moodleHOME/blocks directory, but they dont show up in the drop down list of blocks that i can turn on/off.

A few questions...
1) Once you upload the blocks you must visit the ADMIN page to install the blocks. Have you done so?
2) If you have, are the blocks you are adding ones that you have developed or blocks that have appeared in these forums?
3) Are you installing the lang/BLOCK_NAME.PHP files also?

Problem Solved thanks Marc. Hadn't visited the admin page was trying too add blocks through the blocks section in the configuration menu.
