I see where you can export (to XML) grades as percentages but it appears you cannot import them as percentages. When I attempt this I get the error: "Supplied grade is invalid"
Can someone tell me if this is supposed to work?
I have about 95,000 grades from Blackboard 7.1 in a CSV file. All the grades are in percentages. It is very easy for me to parse the Blackboard CSV file into an XML file that is readable by moodle.
1) Put the raw percentages into the XML file?
2) Determine the moodle maximum points possible for each gradebook item and multiply max points posible by the blackboard percentage and put THAT number in the XML file?
I think #2 makes more sense. Or is there some other option. When I saw you could EXPORT a course's gradebook using percentages, I thought maybe you could import one too. That would save me having to look up the max points posible and calculating the grade.
I'm guessing the XML upload function probably wants an actual score and not a percentage. I'm going to proceed on that assumption.
I didn't go back and veryify all 100 gradebook entries bit it looks like it did something. There must still be something wrong since the upload page never came back to let me know if the import was successful.
Hey Nicolas, you said import function was never meant to be used to copy grades to other moodle courses, but what if I need to do that?
I have a metacourse and several individual courses ...and I need to copy the grades of an assignment from the metacourse to the individual course (to be considered in the grade calculation)
is there a way I can do that? I tried exporting in xml from metacourse and importing in xml to individual course, it's giving me "Supplied grade is invalid"
