I had the same problems as what you had / possibly still have.
I am running Moodle on a windows 2000 server, and using Uniserver V5 Nano to run the Moodle website
I made the following changes, which solved the problem.
1. I added the Listen command in httpd file from ....\server\apache\conf as per reply from Cal Handy.
2. I also editedthe "conf.php file in my www folder to read the following ($CFG->wwwroot = 'http://10.1.72.9';). Where "10.1.72.9" is the IP of the Server on my local network.
3. I also added a line to the windows "hosts" file to read (Dizzy-web 10.1.72.9) where Dizzy-web is the name of my web server, and 10.1.72.9 is the IP address.
I now call up the website, from anywhere on the network, using either the server's IP address (10.1.72.9) or the name (Dizzy-web)
