I'm trying to update a country name in the English language pack. I've followed the instructions on http://docs.moodle.org/en/Language, updated my admin role to permit moodle/site:langeditmaster, made the change, but it doesn't appear on the Moodle site. I'm attaching a screen shot of how the attempted change appears in the language editing page.
There is a related discussion at http://moodle.org/mod/forum/search.php?search=Taiwan&id=5, but it doesn't help much. In earlier versions, I simply changed the local file by hand.
UPDATE: I ended up doing it the old fashioned way, by editing the file in the /lang directory, but of course this change will be erased upon upgrade, so I'd like to figure out how to make the local file work.
What am I missing? Any suggestions?
