First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong forum - please move it if it is but don't know where else to put this.
I have trawled through the forums trying to find an answer to the question, where does one create a course in Moodle?
Simple question you might think but I am in the middle of a battle with IT. They are insisting that a test site is set up so that content can be created separate from the live site and tested (I create only SCORM-compliant content). Once tested it is proposed that the course is backed up and imported into the live site where it is restored. I have to say at this point that IT is not allowing any test accounts so new courses cannot be throughly checked out on the live site - no reason given.
Needless to say, this is not what I do at the moment. Currently testing on the live site in a hidden course which I make available when it is deemed as completed.
So, I am just wanting to get people's views on this so that I can offer a constructive argument. What do others do in their organisations?
