Adding pictures to the forum

Hi,

I am requesting help on behalf of a colleague at an educational institution, he is having issues adding pictures to a forum. He is correctly following the instructions on the support page for this action however when he saves the forum, the picture that is inserted has a red x in the top corner. The directory is correct, the picture is acceptable for loading however the picture just doesn't display.

Ideas/thoughts?

Thanks

Hi Sam
You may find the answer in the Insert Image page on Moodle Docs.

If not, can you please supply more information:
What role does the user have for the course he/she is posting to (eg Teacher/Student)?
Where is the image located (eg course files/website)?
Is this user having difficulty with images in all courses/parts of one course, just this one forum or this one image?
Have you checked to see if you can see the image when you are logged in?
Can you see the html behind the forum post? If so would you be able to copy/paste the image section of the html here so we can see it?

Cheers
Teresa

There are so many things that can cause this, errors in htpacess, permission issues in config php, permission issues in moodle data, GD issues and the dreaded server configuration issues.
