Hi there
If you are who I think you are, I do hope you are well and I have missed you.
I emailed the person on the front page to let them know.

Web site administrators ignore advice/don't update software. Film at 11, move along, nothing to see.

Now my day has been ruined, I have seen some rude words.
Re: Moodle porn alert
Love the way your response has changed now that you see it's a Moodle Partner hosted site.
Want to see more than rude words? Just say the word...

Re: Moodle porn alert
I really had not noticed who was hosting it and i really don't understand your point. Can you elaborate what new point you have that has not been extensively discussed elsewhere in detail. Are you aware of some new issue, with regards to Moodle configuration or security?
Let me cover the issues from my perspective.
Any web based software that allows users to add content is vulnerable to people "spamming", i.e. creating content that points to other web resources in a hope of selling or promoting product. So this often includes links to pornography or pharmaceutical products. These links sometimes actually show pornographic images so it is a very good idea to be aware of any content posted on a web site you host.
Because Moodle allows users to add content it is a good idea to limit the ways that people can add content. For example if you allow anyone on the web to create an account and add content to places such as blogs or forums then sooner or later this will probably be exploited by people promoting their product. You can partially mitigate this by ensuring that data added is not visible to the public web. This is only a partial mitigation as you probably do not want the people within your organisation to be presented with this information, so on balance, don't let just anyone add content. This issue is not a feature or limitation of Moodle it is the nature of the web.
But back to my original question, what is your new point that has not been discussed exhaustively previously. Would you like me to give a link to previous discussions? Are you aware of them?
