FTP site connected to Remote Site does not transfer files when I try to open them from the Moodle Course

I am trying to upload a 42.7 MG video as a resource. When I try to directly upload it through Moodle, the progress bar is full but then nothing happens. I tried putting the file onto Dreamweaver and transfer it from "Local Folder" to "Remote Site." I went to my course and the files are not there. What am I doing wrong?

Two things - first - are you sure you are uploading into the correct numbered course directory on your Moodle? Dreamweaver is ok to upload from but I find it easier to use a dedicated ftp program such as cuteftp or smartftp or filezilla. Where precisely are you uploading this video into? Second - it might well be that it is just "timing out" because 42MG is a very big video size -and in fact, even if you got it into your Moodle course it could well be too large for people to be able to play easily. Is it not possible to reduce it in size?
