Gradbook Calculation

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me.

One of our teachers, wants the ability to calculate there grades like the university the students will be moving onto does.

They have set up weights for each category, and then in "Edit Year 1 Course Total" where you can add the calculations in.

He wants the ability to take module 1 total, and times it by the maximum for module 1, and then do the same for the other modules. Then divide it by the amount of modules in total.

Also if possible, lose the lowest module.

Any help will be highly appreciated

Kind Regards

Sam

Sam, I'll see if I can help.  But, he may already have tried these...

If he sets up a category for each module and enters the percentage of the grade the module should be then sets up the grading period as a simple weighted means of grades.  It should calculate as desired.  As for the dropping the lowest score, I think that can only be done per assignment.

Grading Period: Fall Semester: Simple Weighted Means

Module 1: Weight .33

Module 2: Weight .33

Module 3: Weight .34

In this method, the Modules would be averaged almost equally.
