secure window in quiz

i understand there is a option to prevent users from cheating by using secure window for taking quiz. However, students can still open another browser to google for answer. is there a way to prevent students from using other window controls while taking the quiz? e.g: make secure window full screen, disable alt+tab, prevent users from going to desktop, etc..

Not possible just in Moodle. Have a look at http://www.safeexambrowser.org/.

Wen,

Unfortunately even if you use secure window, students can open new windows. Because of the technology used it is not possible to prevent this.

But you can implement some best practices that will minimize cheating.

1. Always apply proctored quizzes. Checking continuously the number of tabs have open on their student's screens. They are very fast using the Ctrl-Tab keys.
2. Have very large databases of questions
3. Shuffle and randomize all questions you add to the quiz
4. Do not display many questions at a time

Cheers,

Manuel.
