Well, I have been attempting to put it on the internet and can't figure out why that isn't working but at the moment it is behind a router.

I would definitely NOT recommend putting a Windows XP system on the Internet as a webserver! You should use an operating system designed for being a server; Windows Server 2003 at least, or preferably Linux...

In the windows install try C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.30\bin> mysqladmin -u root password NEWPASSWORD.

Where C:\wamp\.. should match the path of your install pointing to the mysql bin folder and NEWPASSWORD should be changed to the pass you want to give te (mysql) root user.
