Manual Grades

Manual Grades

A quick question about manually entering grades in the new version of the Gradebook.  I've found instructions on manually over-riding grades given by modules for activities which happened inside Moodle, but is it possible to enter a grade for an activity which happened outside Moodle (for example a practical test) and for which no record has already been created?

TIA

Chris

Hi Chris,
You can create a new column in the gradebook for such item. Go to Categories and Items tab and click Add Grade Item button. Then you will be able to type in grade there manually via the Grader report.
(You can also use Import feature if you have your grades recorded already in .csv format - this will allow you to create a column and add all grades right away)

Hi Chris
As well as the great suggestions by Elena here another option is to create an 'Offline Assignment'. I usually suggest this be used if the structure of the course is displayed in Moodle, this way the students know the test is coming up and you can provide the information, the due date (which of course is linked to the calendar) and the grades.

If you don't have all activities listed in your Moodle course then the manual grade item is the easiest way to do this.
Cheers
Teresa
