I am a secondary classroom teacher (A+, Linux+) and would like to solicit moodle users opinions on finding a virtual server hosting environment when I am limited by the following constraints
1. < $40.00 . month
2. Ubuntu 8.04 LTS- the Linux version I am most familiar with
3. Classroom teacher with 5 classes and less than 200 users. May want to create additional on-line courses
4. Can offload flash and video content offsite
5. If things go well - start looking at the Moodle integration with Second Life
I am aware of other options besides running my own virtual server. I also have developed my own LMS in dot net and have an Ubuntu/MS Virtual Server running Moodle inside a Win 2008 Server. Essentially a small site but want to allow as much creativity as possible.
