Tried setting up a scheduled backup (Moodle 1.4, Win2K, IIS)
Started OK - lots of zip files were put in the destination folder (outside webroot) - looks like most if not all.
Received email with details of (only) 2 courses (out of 100+) which did not apparently backup.
Temp folder in moodle_data contains a backup folder. In there are multiple copies of a single course as series of folders each with a numeric name (generated randomly?). Inside each folder appears to be copies of the same course (not the ones in the email). There are also folders for other resources, but not repeated.
i.e. multiple copies of the same course in the temp/backup folder - trouble is each is 240MB+ and so the disc ran out of space (all 12Gb of it - Moodle only takes 6-700Mb normally).
I have disabled the scheduled backup and created some other space on the disc in order to allow Moodle (and other websites) to operate as they all crashed Mon am.
Critical Question - can I simply delete the backup folder and contents from the temp folder in moodle_data or will that upset the system (moodle or MySQL)?
Secondary question - Suggestions on places to look for solution to multiple copy problem are also welcome though we will backup using alternative means for time being (we cannot risk repeat and do not have time/resources to run complete test only system).
[Hope this description makes sense.]
