Thanks for this post Melissa and for encouragement at iMoot! I think we are starting to form what I would call a consortium (consortia ?) of potential UserGroups in New Hampshire and/or Northern New England. Initial target is system integrators (techies who assist teachers in all things technical ) with the goal of having one or more "courses" and synchronous meetings which will involve teachers.
The iMoot was a great inspiration. While literally holding hands and eyeball to eyeball is wonderful, being able to do it remotely should provide a wider draw of both questions and of "different ways of doing things". And by limiting it to the same time zone, that should be a piece of cake
Thanks for sharing some thoughts and links via this thread. Did you see list of user groups ? Once I get my hands dirty with some actual, I wondered if we can create a "User group examples" page in docs.moodle, because I am sure there are different types and perhaps "how to" resources to share via external links.
