Others may chime in here. What version of Moodle are you using?

Here is a wrinkle I found in 1.5 but question bank started in 1.6. I am not sure how it works in 1.6 onward. With that warning, in Moodle 1.5x, I found that if I create questions in course "Jan 08" and put them in a category, when I viewed the question category in course "Apr 09", the export could be found in the course files of "Jan 08" but not in "Apr 09".

I forget or where is that course? In 1.5 when you edit the question, you will switch to the course it was created in. At least on my 1.5 web sites.

Hope this helps, we definitely need to update MoodleDocs Export questions once we figure this out. Thanks for your post.
