Is there a way that for Teachers on a moodle course their name came up with their title as opposed to firstname lastname? It's just that some of the members of staff at my school would rather not have their names displayed everytime students use a course.

If they are universally refered to by title (in moodle) you could always just set their firstname to 'Mr'/'Mrs' etc.

To distinguish ourselves from the students, we set the first name field like this:
CTY Staff - Ben
CTY Instructor - Ben
If you want to remove first names, I'd urge using at least a first initial to avoid confusing both students and your Moodle admin, unless your institution is small enough not to have 2 people with the same last name.
