Hi multilingual moodlers,
I know that there have been many issues discussed regarding the problems of mixing languages in courses and that unicode is coming down the track. Much of this is too technical for me, and I am looking for practical advice regarding steps I can take in my situation.
English doesn't display properly when the moodle language is changed to Korean (see the sreenshot below). After spending so much time making something look good, I then find that it looks awful when a user looks at it in Korean!
I don't really understand why this is happening, but I would like to try unicode mode out. Are the following the steps necessary:
1. use recode to change the Korean language pack to unicode (and change the setting in moodle.php)
2. convert the database data to unicode
3. set moodle to unicode mode in config.php
What else? Other issues to consider? Is this a viable approach, or are there other ways to solve the problem?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Tim.
