We are currently running Moodle 1.9.3+ (Build: 20081112)
Today I when I unenrolled a participant from a course (via course > participants) I found out that person was still receiving emails posted to the forum. I could not find any place where this user remains enrolled with the course. I went to manage subscriptions for that course and it showed she was still subscribed, even though she had been unenrolled.
I did find the following items already in the tracker: http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-10624 and http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-11646 but both items have been closed and fixed. Is there a patch or a hack that I am missing to correct this?

Having what may be a similar situation; running moodle 1.9 (2007101509)
Two situations involving a hidden room and forums in that room, and users who are not subscribed to the forum receiving email from it. Please help.
1. Student role is set to not see hidden rooms. When student role was assigned at system level, student role received email from hidden room forum, but still did not have access to the room. (?!) Removing student role assignment set on system level solved problem.
2. RE a user account that at one point had administration role assigned at front page and system level, is reset to a lower level, that can still see hidden rooms, but has never been enrolled in the hidden forums, and this user account receives email from that forum.
Would like for that to not happen.
Any hints most welcome; thanks!
