Hello Moodlers

When I try to make a backup, the following errror message occurs (parts in german)

  • Erstelle vorübergehende Strukturen
  • Lösche alte Daten
  • Erstelle XML-Datei
    • Schreibe Header
    • Schreibe allgemeine Information
    • Schreibe Kursdaten
      • Kurs-Information

        An error occurred while backing up course start

      • Abschnitte
    • Schreibe Nutzerinformation

The backup did not complete successfully

What can I do?

Hi Beat,

how many courses do you have in your server? I've checked that part of the backup process and the only possible reason to that code is that you have a VERY BIG number of courses.

I've make an small modification to the code to avoid such situation and I've sent you the modified file privately. Please, try it. Feedback in this discussion will be appreciated, sure!

I'm deeply impressed from your engagement. I replaced the file backuplib.php but the error remains the same. I have about 15 courses on my site and I use version 1.4.

Is there a possibility to save the courses "by hand". Which files woud I have to save?
