Greetings all-- We have a role created for "Community" -- our parents, community members, media, etc. primarily for communication and messaging. We'd like to have e-mail based self-registration to handle the number of accounts, but we want them automatically set at the "Community" role for the system. We don't want to use guest access, because we're still going to link individual parent accounts to their students so that they can access their students' work.

What is wrong with the default "authenticated user" role Moodle would give them? In what way do you envisage this community role being different?
