Dear All,
I am using WIRIS pluign and it works nicely for me. But one of my client has suggested me to look into SageMath (http://www.sagemath.org/). I searched sagemath site and other Moodle forums and can't find any plugin from Sagemath for moodle. My Question is
1. Is Sagemath provides more functionalities than WIRIS or Sagemath is better than WIRIS?
2. If so, then is there any plug in available for Moodle?
Thanks in Advance
Cheers

WIRIS Vs Sagemath

sagemath is pretty nifty, but there is a bit of learning curve. I need to update the Math page with some additional info, but in the meantime....
This is the closest I have seen as far as integration, using xml-rpc:
http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=98670
http://cvs.moodle.org/contrib/plugins/question/type/algebra/INSTALL.txt?view=co
And the question posed in the discussion is still of course relevant, is it worthwhile to pursue sagemath as opposed to using STACK?

Re: WIRIS Vs Sagemath
Hello, I'm a Sage developer and Moodle user...
1. Is Sagemath provides more functionalities than WIRIS or Sagemath is better than WIRIS?
I would say neither is better than the other; it depends on what you want. Sage has many features useful for math research, while WIRIS seems like it's aimed more at the K-12 education market. WIRIS is commercial software, while Sage -- like Moodle -- is free/open source software.
Right now my guess is that for most teachers using Moodle, WIRIS will be much more useful than Sage, since there's no real Sage/Moodle integration available that I know of.
However, the idea comes up now and again, and I would really like to see it happen. Anyone who is interested in doing this should definitely email the sage-devel group. I know Minh Van Nguyen has plans to do a Moodle/Sage plugin.
