thanks a lot for this big effort and huge help guys :D
the question is that my boss doesn't want to clear the mdl_log, i'm trying to persuade him but is tough, and about the upgrade well i'll send an email for him to see this forum so que can read the posts and then he decide what's better.
I'm trying to use memcached to see if our server will have a better performance
i'm afraid of getting a newer version of php and mysql cause our RHEL5 repository doesn't have it and so if i've got a bug or a crash due this new versions and they're not accreditated with Red Hat i can't have their support (where i can find these new php and mysql versions cause i don't use Red Hat support).
We wan't to do'it cause a year ago i've got a big problem about a huge load of *dead threads on our mysql causing the server to crash and freeze, i've looked in this problem and the version of mysql 5.0.54a x64 was causing a huge bug about threads, so i've read some forums and found that to fix it was to install a newer version of mysql 5.0.67, so in wee hours of the morning i've made a backup of our database and upgrade the mysql then just replace the ibdata file and log_ibdata0 and log_ibdata1 on a test server i works then i applyed it on our running server
The last problem appears today our server is having a very huge load about 700 current users in moodle (700 users in 15 minutes) and our server is very very slow with a little database errors i really don't know what to do if not upgrading our hardware and database
i'll post an attachent so if you guys please see what's going on and with a little help we can solve this :D
and and my.cnf file i cant habilitate innodb_log_file_size cause when i do'it the server doesn't up so i wan't to know if this configuration is good enough for 700 concurrent users or not thanks a lot in avance :D
