I've always thought that one of the most important features Moodle lacks is the possibility for teachers to have a quick way to see how many unmarked assignments, test questions, forum/journal/glossary/database entries they have.

That would be a nice K-12 modification. We come up with a really raw solution. Since our assignments are under grade categories like Application of knowledge, process skills etc, we designed a single page for the school admin to see what is going on about the teachers and assignments, particularly if they are doing the right amount of assignments etc.
It is been designed for 1.9, since we are planning to move to v2, code is still in its raw state. It hits to the database like there is no tomorrow. But to see and to get an idea I will post it to the voting section of the site. I guess that was
