Hi!

Could someone please give me some guidance on how to adjust my scale to get a certain percentage.  Here is my scale right now:

Scale Used Edit
Check Scale
, , , , √-, , √, , √+, √++

I want a grade of √- to give me 50%.  However, it reports 44%.  The other grades appear as follows:

√     - 67% (I want 70%)

 √+   -89% ( I want a 90%)

 √++ -100% (This is the only grade that show up how I want 100%)

I have tried all sort of combinations, but this is the closest I can get to the grades I want.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Diane, I have had a simular problem.

Your first grade= 0% Your top grade=100% so your ODD NUMBERED middle grade = 50%

So as an example I use this scale. of 11 items (I put in a H to make the numbers up to 11)

U, H, G, F, E, D, C, B, A, A*, A**
These Equate to
0%,10%,20%,30%,40%,50%,60%,70%,80%,90%,100%
These also seem to average so C,C,D = (60+60+50)/3=56.6% = D (HIGHER THAN 50 LOWER THAN 60)
The only way to get an A** is 100%, 99% =A*

I may be wrong but scales just seem to be stored as percentages, and you can set pass grades as a percentage then switch to a scale. and still get the colour change in the grade book.

Thank you!  I did not realize it counted the first position as a O.  So, I just went in and added another comma and got it to work.  Thanks again, Daine
