I posted this in the Installation Forum as per a suggestion from Helen. So far no comments. I have created a sub page draft of Installing Moodle.
The Installing Moodle page is 40.7k, over 25 page down screens worth on my home computer. The Draft is currently is less than 14 page down screens and 18.5k . To do this I created many other sub pages where I have cut and pasted content from the long page. These pages (with ugly titles) should become real pages.
I also did a search on "Install" and listed the results here.
A little knowledge is dangerous. I think it is a step in the "least bad" (to quote Tim) direction. But this august group might have some better ideas. In my eye, even the draft is too long.

Hi,
I switched the draft pages over to the real thing. New pages and new template. Moved the Review template to the bottom of the page, so as not to upset new users.
