Is there a way of doing this? I've tried to look through the docs for it, but found nothing. Thanks in advance.
I did hack something for the previous gradebook, but I take it you are talking about the 1.9 gradebook? (If you have the previous version then it may be in the criteria reference block's configuration)
Otherwise I'll have a look at what's needed to upload grade items but it won't be for another week or two. If I remember correctly it was just a case of sticking in an update query but it was scary for me the first time!
If you want to have a stab then all I did was to look at what happened when the manual add item code was run and adapt it to a batch process. I'm not sure what table combinations have to be updated but this was one of my first stabs at php and I don't think I destroyed anything!
Kinda annoying that this isn't already there in moodle, but I guess if I get it done, I'll post it up here for all to see and enjoy. I'm also looking for a script that will change a table of grades into xml to allow for easier uploading of grades, the csv way of doing it seems needlessly tedious, but xml is not something any of the teachers here know. Probably do all of this together.
Only one table, that would be nice!
I did a macro in Excel that converted a file to xml for the glossary just by writing out the tags between the cell values, if you have a look you can probably see I don't know much about xml either
Are you aware that the 'iteminfo' field can contain html which can make the links from the criteria reference block much 'prettier'?
Phill and David,
How are you? I am running Moodle 2.6 and one of my instructors is looking for this feature. Do you have any further advice or where you able to come up with something that I could use? Any help would be appreciated.
Phil and David may no longer be around, since their discussion was from 2009!
Have you come across the documentation Grade import?
Thanks for your reply. I figured it was a long shot with trying this post, but it's then only one I've found so far that offered any ideas. I looked in the documentation for Grade import earlier and unfortunately as far as I can tell, Moodle won't allow you to add columns to the file. It will return an error on import. If I could figure out a way to import columns for assignments and categories that would be helpful. From their discussion, it sounded like it might be only one table, but I don't have access to the database and not exactly sure how to go about it anyway. Hopefully someone will have some ideas. Thanks.
