I am trying to use google apps as my smtp server. I am running moodle 1.9.3+ on an ubuntu server. I have followed the instructions from here. I am still getting an error message when moodle tries to send an email.
SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known (0) ERROR: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. I also have my server behind an IPCop firewall. Is it possible that I have to open ports on the server and/or the firewall? Any suggestions? Thanks
