Execute shell command after automatic backup completes?

How about a field in the backup config that lets you enter an arbitrary shell command to execute after the backup completes?

In my case, I'd like to copy all the backed-up files to a CD and then burn the CD.

I could see this being useful for others as well (depending on how fancy you wanted to get, you could even run a script to ftp or scp the file to another server).

Hi Tony,

I think there are some scripts that will do backups and mail them to another server, so maybe one of the programmers might be interested in adapting one like that into Moodle eventually.  It would be a nice feature to have.

Hi Tony -- Instead, use your operating system's existing facility for scheduling execution of an arbitrary shell command. Schedule your command to run at a time sufficiently delayed from the typical conclusion of the backup, to (essentially) ensure that the backup has completed before your command is run.
