Hi,

Forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere.  We are using 1.9.1 with LDAP authentication. We need a role for our acdemic advisors that is very similar to Guest.  Will it jeopardize any security if we simply give these users guest access? They are all authenticated users, but it would mean turning on guest access site-wide.  Accessing the moodle site requires authenticated access to our school portal first THEN authenticated login to Moodle.  Thanks to all for any and all help

Hi Ted,

From what you describe, I suggest you try allowing guest access to courses (in the course settings for each course) but don't allow guest access to the site i.e. leave the guest login button hidden in Administration > Users > Authentication.
