Thanks for the reply. The only reason I asked is that in the help popup that comes when you click on the "?" next to the "insert file" dialogue box, it states "Images files (gif, jpg, bmp and png) and flash movies (swf) will be inserted visually in the document. All other files will be displayed as a link to download".

I downloaded Moodle 1.9 and the nwiki add-on (have not installed dfwiki per se, but I guess the help file, which still says dfwiki up the top, is an older version).

Fantastic software and I understand the reasons why it could be a problem. I know how to embed the URL so I will just have to do that instead.
