Moving off the dev track

Moving off the dev track

Hi everyone,

I've been tracking 1.4dev in CVS this summer, but with school starting I'd like to move to something a little less risky. What's the best way to begin tracking 1.3.4+ instead? Can I do it without exporting and reimporting the few courses that have been created?

Hi Tim.

The only thing (except flip pancakes) that Moodle can't do is downgrade the database. So, in fact, you can't take the courses back.

However, we are within a breath (hours probably) of a beta version of 1.4, which will probably turn stable around the first of the month.

With things this close to the edge, you are probably safest holding tight and upgrading from the beta to the stable at that time. Moodle.org is run on the development version and you can see how amazingly stable it is (especially near the end of a development cycle).

Having said this, you are wise to want stable as soon as it comes out.
