Tamil font in HTML editor

I want to use tamil text in html editor, so that i have installed tamil fonts on linux system and as guided in "html editor documentation of moodle" in the appearance settings added the font in font table (both columns). Font name is coming in the font list of HTML editor but it is not affecting the text.

Anybody please tell me where i am doing wrong or anything else i have to do for getting tamil text in editor.

Thanks

I am sorry if I misunderstood your post but if you visit for example http://people.w3.org/rishida/scripts/pickers/tamil/ do you see tamil characters (= does your browser support unicode characters/fonts?)

If you copy one character (or some tamil text) to editor and save does moodle show those characters (what version of moodle is it /unicode support)? For example here:

(I don't understand tamil at all but it is probably tamil letter NNA as image)

If you add new fonts to editor, all users shoud have the same fonts installed so it might be better to use just unicode characters and have a (virtual) keyboard for writing tamil characters...
