Journal gone in Moodle 2?

Someone told me that the "journal" activity will not be included in the final release of Moodle 2. I find that hard to believe, so I've searched moodle.org but I can't find any mention of this topic. It's not in Moodle 2 now, but that doesn't mean it is discontinued... does it?

Journal hasn't been supported for some time and is replaced by Online Text Assignments. There is a script to convert and we (hopefully) fixed the last few deficiencies in Assignment that Journal users where complaining about.

Thanks for the info - I appreciate it. We will probably go ahead and hide it, then, and steer people to online text assignments.
