course ID=1 no longer my homepage

course ID=1 no longer my homepage

My site homepage is pointing to a new course that is no longer the id=1 course.

I can't quite put my finger on the actions that lead to this problem. It may have occurred when I was checking the possibilities for creating groups in course id=1 (site homepage). In any case, it seems I've somehow created a new "homepage" course (I figured out that it is id=294, which makes sense because the last course created was 293). It is behaving like the homepage in that all site courses are displayed.

If anyone knows how I can change the homepage back to id=1 that would be great.
Thanks!
Sylvia

The site course should be the only course for which $course->category is 0. Thus to fix your problems you should go to the course table in your moodle database and for the entry with id = 1 set category = 0 and for the entry with id = 294 set the category to some existing category so that you can then delete that unwanted course from within Moodle.

Terrific, Gustav! Thanks for coming to the rescue. Things are now as they should be.
