scheduled chat times

The way Moodle works now, if you schedule a chat for a certain time, such as the recurring daily chats here in this course, it displays that chat as an upcoming chat until that exact time, after which it tells you the next chat is "tomorrow." If a chat is scheduled at 6 pm, if someone shows up at 6:02, they won't know that there was supposed to be a chat starting two minutes before and they may just ignore the chat module. It think if one were able to specify a period of time for the chat, say from 6 to 7, and someone entered the course at 6:02 and were to see "ongoing now" rather than 6:00 tomorrow they would be more likely to wander in.  What does everyone think? Would adding an optional end time be useful?

It would also be more logical if the fact that people are in the chat were displayed in the chat block, rather than in recent activity. I think this might also encourage more participation in chat because that is the block that would first catch people's eye if they were interested in chat.
