Question types missing

Hi,

after installing the latest feedback modul on moodle 1.9.3+ I cannot see any question types, no matter if I'm admin or teacher. On my two other moodles (bott 1.9.3+) it works. Any idea?

thanks a lot
Paul

Hi Paul,

please have a look at the directory "feedback/items". Does the webserver have the right to can read all files in this folder?
What will be shown while you have the debug-mode switched on?

Hi,

did you check the file permissions as mentioned above?
What version of feedback do you use?

Hi,

sorry, I was offline over the weekend.

I checked the file permissions, they are the same as everywhere else.

Paul

Correction: I think I found the (my) mistake, some files seem to be missing, something must have gone wrong with ftp, although I repeated it three times.

I'll try again and report back later.

Thanx
Paul

Hello,

Having the same problem here.

I just downloaded the 1.9 version form here:

http://www.grabs-edv.de/referenzen/moodle/feedback-Modul/download.php

On clicking on a Feedback activity, none of the tabs appear, si it's not possible to add questions. I'm going to copy over an older 1.9 version from another moodle system. I'll let you know how it goes.

Problem solved - at least a workaround

It seems that this latest version of the Feedback module requires a change in the roles settings.

I got a hint for this workaround in this discussion:

http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=108264

So, to make it possible to add questions you need to:
  1. set up a Feedback activity
  2. before saving, click on the "Locally assigned roles" tab
  3. click on 'Teacher'
  4. click on your own name, and add yourself to the left hand column
  5. go back to the Settings section, and save
This workaround is not necessary in a moodle system I downloaded via CVS last week (27th Oct, 2008), which included a download of the Feedback module. So, I think this is a bug: it should not be necessary to change the 'Locally assigned roles" in order to use an activity module in a 'normal' way.

Hi Peter,

your problem seams to be an other problem than Pauls problem.
There is no needing to change the role settings to use this module.
Often it helps to logout and login.

Ah after deciding not to smack aforementioned computer, resolved my problem by upgrading to php5 from php4 (accidentally to handle new facebook app.)
