I submitted a similar post this AM... I think you may be having the same problem or am I mistaken? You don't want the quiz attempt left as open?

I'm looking for a simple way for teachers to be able to submit a quiz attempt for a student who did not choose the submit and finish button in a quiz.

As a result, the Moodle system indicates the quiz for the student as being open and the teacher cannot go in and grade any of the student's answers.

I had to go in as the site admin, change the parameters of quiz to multiple attempts, set it so each new attempt builds on last = YES, modify date and time and then choose the LOGIN AS the student. Then I had to go back into the quiz as the student to CONTINUE so I could actually submit their work so that it shows up for the teacher to grade.

Isn't there a way for teachers to be able to submit students' exams after the period has ended without having teachers' having to have "login as" rights to submit the exams as their students?
