Actually I never tried that. I believe Alan's suggestion would work, but the HP-Moodle-exercises are meant to be copied to other teachers so the best thing would be to keep things simple.
Yes, the backup/restore functions work, but I have not included them in the "experiment and play" download, because I intend to use them to entice people to pay for the commercial version of the module in the future.
The open-source version of the module will be for Moodle 2.0 and will have everything a Moodle module needs, including backup and restore. The commercial version of the module will recognize additional types of quiz file, will have several extra output formats and will be backwards compatible with Moodle 1.6 - 1.9.
