Assignment

I'm a teacher. When I log into Moodle (1.9), I see a number of course assignments listed on the landing page (index.php) even though I have already reviewed them. The assignments were set up as "No Grade" and I entered "Done" in the comments for each student. I realize that a work-around may be to "Hide" the assignment, but this doesn't seem to be the way to go for students who may want to turn in the assignment late. Thanks for your help!
