Using the files icon, I created a folder and uploaded a pdf, a powerpoint, and a word document (.doc). Then went to the first week of my course and used the drop down to “add a resource”. The first time through, I used the “link to file” option. The options chosen were “new window” and all remaining options EXCEPT default widow size. No options or entries were made in parameters. The result is a 404 messages. The url was as follows: http://onlinepiedmont.net/mod/resource/view.php?inpopup=true&id=12. I tried this with each file type and got the same result. So the next attempt was to “add a resourse” as a “display a directory” so that students could open and save a file. Once again, I got a 404 message. The url was as follows:
So I am baffled as to where an uploaded file actually resides and why I continue to get these 404 messages. If I can’t get past this issue, this software is useless to me.
About 1/2 way down the page, the section "Uploaded files give "File not found"" may be helpful.
I will check it out. Thanks!
