Gradebook

Hi folks.


I am trying to understand the maximum grade calculation in a category total column in gradebook 1.9. I use weighted categories. I expected that the 'maximum grade' should be equal to the maximum number of points from the grade items making it up. But when I add a new item, it does not update this grade.

So, maxium grade in a weighted category. Should I leave it at 100, and assume it is displaying a percentage? Do I need to update it manually each time I add a grade item?

I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around it. If it does calculate percentage, can I set it to the 'maximum grade' to the same as the 'category weight%' to show how many points that category contributes to the total course grade.


Any advice?
