Hi,
We need to create a regularly scheduled import/update routine linking a large (5000k) membership database with Moodle. The goal would be to have username/password synchronization between the sites. Has anyone done this or something similar and if so, could you comment on difficulty, timeframe and whether you would like to help us? Thanks.

Have you looked into using external database as the authentication method?

Hope this helps. If it works for you, I'll have to think what to charge you for the two minutes that it took me to find the docs and write the reply to your question
Cheers,

Hi
As suggested, this is pretty easy to set up with Moodle's external database authentication and enrollment plugins and the cron jobs that go with them. Depending on how much synching and which direction, this should not be much trouble for a experienced Unix admin and might be more difficult on a Windows platform.
Please post if you are still having trouble
Thanks,
