Hi all,

Have anybody tried to run Moodle with FreeBSD yet ? I know that Moodle can run perfectly on Linux, however the school where i am working uses FreeBSD. I would love to hear some opinion from you guys who have some experiences with Moodle on BSD.

Works like a charm smile

I started out with Redhat linux but got tired of trying to fix dependencies which at least at that time the rpm's didn't take care of.

I haven't regretted switching to FreeBSD.

On a testing server running freeBSD 5.x no problems.
Perhaps you can search the forums with the key word "freeBSD", gives you some more info...

Running Moodle version 2004052503, release 1.3.3 on FreeBSD 4.6 on two servers.

-  One with Apache2.0.50, PHP 5.0.0, PostgreSQL 7.43. - running about 10 days.

-  One with Apache 1.3.26, PHP 5.0.0, PostgreSQL 7.2 -  just installed.

Only problems so far are with "blocks." This problem has been listed in this forum and the only informed reply I've seen so far suggests that this is a new bug, no suggestions as to how to fix.

I don't know what the root of the problem is, but as I recollect, the one who posted the bug was not using FreeBSD...

Good luck.
