Curve To: Allows you to curve grades. Set this item to what you would like the particular graded item graded out of. So if the max grade was 30 and curve to was set at 28, students grades and percentages would be calculated against a possible 28 points rather than 30.
Thus with two assignments:
- if student gets for one assignment 28 and for another 28, his grade is 100%
- if student gets for one assignment 27 and for another 29, he has still overal grade of 100%
So far, I only found an option to set two assignments instead of one: one assignment with 28 points maximum and other one defined as extra credit with 2 point maximum. Moreover, it is the necessary to set category aggregation as sum of grades (no other aggregation type has a possibility of extra credits). This solution is not nice as teacher has to mark student twice at two separate places (activity, gradebook).
