I got a strange problem plz help me what to do.
problem is: I have installed jsMath for tex to math conversion on my moodle. It was working fine with my windows based local system. But when I installed the same on server i.e. a linux machine, the tex is not being converted to Math. I have done all the same steps and enabled the filter from administration section. What I am doing wrong plz help me to resolve the issue. I know you all are my god. You will suggest me the solution.
I think you want the server details, my moodle is hosted on http://www.gurujiacademy.com/moodle if you can see on right top corner I have written a latex syntex but its not rendering in math format. I have enabled the jsmath filter as well as changed the permission to 777 for entire directory with subdirectories. I think this is sufficient information.
3. Create a filter folder called moodle/filter/jsmath on your server, and put the jsMath folder into it. You should have folders called moodle/filter/jsmath/jsMath and moodle/filter/jsmath/jsMath/fonts. Note the nested jsMath inside another folder called jsmath. The capitalization is important, as is the level of nesting.Your system does not respond at http://www.gurujiacademy.com/moodle/filter/jsmath/jsMath
Did you see the jsmath filter in your admin filter page when you went to turn it on and if so what did it look like??
You can test your jsMath here:
and I wonder whether you followed all the directions as far as font installation....
I have done the same process during the installation, The folder structure is moodle/filter/jsMath/jsMath
In admin section when I go to manage filter its showing Jsmath instead of jsMath. I can enable it and disable it without any error.
I know your question is about jsMath, but I was wondering if you had tried turning on the TeX filter? If you are installing on your own server (i.e. not one that is hosted by someone else) then getting TeX to work initially might be a good idea. It *should* be easy (depending on what else it is doing) if you have full access to that server. I would only worry about jsMath if (for whatever reason) I couldn't get TeX to work.
I know it doesn't answer your question but I hope this helps.
Thanks for the suggestions. I am having a shared server. So according you it may cause a problem, alright.
Now I have tested with Tex filter, but again getting an strange issue i.e. additional [?] text. Look at the attached screen the actual tex syntax is x^2 - 4x^2 - 11x + 30
Could u please help me why is this happening.
I got the soultion for tex filter the reason of unwanted charcters is that I have entered spaces after each character that was creating this issue.
But its solved now. Equation is rendering properly.
Thanks to all.
