I'm new to moodle and really don't understand why my moodle works locally, but when I forward port 80 from my router to my moodle it works to get the login page only. The other links are not found. Why

Apologies for brining to life an oldish post, but if you're still having this trouble you should try raising it in another forum, perhaps installation?
Misleading as it may be, the Moodle Network forum is for discussions around getting Moodles talking to each other.
Hopefully people in the other forum will be able to help you, as it seems we can't.
