This is a developer's question. Am I asking it in the wrong place?
I have some dynamic page generation code (that I wrote)
that builds recursive, directory-nestable pages with the creative use
of "readdir"------if you make an html page, or copy an image or text file
or php code to a given location, it suddenly appears on a page,
along with links to all other such pages, and/or nested, visitable sub-directories.
It's handy as a student assignments repository.
I also have an online text editor. So students can
write out (elementary php coding) assignments with the online text editor
and then save them to the server-side file system, where their work is automatically/dynamically displayed by the page generation utilities.
They can edit their own work, but they are prevented from editing work done
by other students.
So I want to build assignment links (perhaps in the activities dropdown
menu, when in edit mode) that gets built dynamically, depending
In other words, if $USER->username is 'sandy' and I click
the "edit assignment 33" link, the user will be redirected
...where the 'sandy' part of the Uri gets plugged in dynamically.
Where in the code should I start looking, in order to dope
out how activities work? (add choice, forum, advanced uploading, etc)
I can read and understand code, but there is a lot of it there.
A starting point would be much appreciated.
