Problem not automatically linking within a page

I have a glossary item set up for "CLI" (Command Line Interface). Now, the word "click" in my lesson links to "cli". I would like to keep the letters "cli" in "click" from linking to the glossary item "CLI".

It seems that I read somewhere that I could insert a "<nolink>cli</nolink>ck" tag and that item would not be linked. However, that doesn't seem to work. When I insert the code into the WYSIWYG editor it just shows up in the final page as written. When I open the HTML view and insert the code, it gets changed to an XHTML empty element: "<nolink />cli</nolink />ck" and does not turn off the automatic link.

How do I turn this feature off for selected words or phrases?

Dear George Self,

This is ages old but, there is also a check box for "link only to complete matches" (or the like) in each glossary item so you can set autolinking to link only to CLI and not CLICK, I think.

The problem with the html editor changing the nolink element to the XHMTL element has been brought up elsewhere and cured by a patch from Michael Penny recently.
